Latest Helios® Release Highlights: What’s New, What’s Next
Keeping you informed as Helios continues to evolve.
As part of Elligint Health’s ongoing investment in the Helios platform, our product and engineering teams regularly deliver enhancements, refinements, and new capabilities designed to make day‑to‑day work more efficient and intuitive. These updates are documented in our Helios Release Notes, which provide transparency into what’s new, improved, or fixed across environments.
We’ve summarized key highlights to give everyone visibility into recent progress and what’s coming next.
Production Environment Updates
Enhancements Configurable Notifications – Configurable Notifications are now generally available to all clients. This role‑aware capability allows users to receive timely, relevant alerts based on their responsibilities — helping care teams to stay informed without disruption.
Referral Description as a Rules Parameter – Referral Descriptions can now be used as triggers or criteria within System Rules. This gives superadmins more flexibility to automate workflows based on referral‑specific text and logic.
Utilization Management (UM) 3.0 – UM 3.0 was launched in UAT in October 2025. Our latest release introduces faster navigation, focused workflows, and built-in member context. Based on direct feedback from Helios UM users, this release reduces scrolling, improves workload visibility, and makes it easier to access critical member details.
UAT Environment Updates
Enhancements
New Dynamic Date Field for Letter Templates – A new dynamic field — Anchor Date + 65 calendar days — is now available across all letter templates, supporting more accurate and consistent date‑driven communications.
Improved InterQual® PDF and Note Logic – Enhancements to the InterQual integration ensure that medical review PDFs and authorization notes are consistently generated, with standardized naming and clearer service date documentation.
Feature Previews
The following capabilities are in preview and represent upcoming functionality currently being refined:
Department‑Level Assignment for Work Items – All work types — including Authorizations, Appeals, Grievances, Events, and Episodes — can now be assigned to departments as well as individual users, supporting team‑based workflows and flexible triage.
Client Labels & Batch Rules – New Client Labels and Batch Rules extend Helios automation beyond event‑based actions, allowing admins to define populations, apply labels, and schedule bulk actions.
Coverage 2.0 – Coverage 2.0 will enhance how Helios tracks member insurance coverage over time, improving reliability, eligibility tracking, and visibility into coverage changes.
Bulk Authorization Line Editing – This upcoming feature will allow users to update multiple authorization lines at once, reducing repetitive work and improving efficiency for high-volume reviews.
Features in Development
Events 2.0 – Events 2.0 will introduce more configurable fields, improved data consistency, timeline capabilities, and contextual insights to make Events more actionable.
Process Updates
Feature Flag Management – Over the past year, many Helios enhancements have been delivered through Feature Toggles. We are formalizing a release process to ensure that functionality is fully production‑ready and supported by clear documentation. Additional details will be shared as this process is finalized.
Looking Ahead
We’ll continue sharing high‑level updates like these to keep stakeholders informed while ensuring detailed technical documentation remains accessible to those who need it.

As Vice President of Client Success, Justin Toomer leads client-focused solutions and services that help our partners achieve — and exceed—their goals.
